Premium Canvas Products – Impress Your Customers with Stunning Prints of Your Art

June 29

Canvas prints are a longstanding favourite with artists everywhere, and for good reason. The best canvas prints are extremely high quality, making them the best option for artists who want to provide their customers with accurate renditions of their work.

The key is to choose only the best quality canvas prints, which you’ll find right here at PrinTribe.

All products from our Premium Canvas range are printed with the finest UV printing techniques using Mutoh Inkjet printers, and they’re hand-crafted right here in Australia by Guild-recognised framers.

If you’ve been weighing up your options and feel unsure about selling canvas prints to your customers, we’re here to help you understand everything you need to know about this premium option.

Check out some of the advantages of fine art canvas prints:

  • A frameless presentation gives your art a whole new look and gives your customers an alternative to a framed artwork. But you can also frame them for a whole different look.
  • Canvases are lightweight, so you don’t have to worry about additional high shipping costs.
  • They’re a cost-effective option as you can produce large pieces at affordable prices.
  • You can add more depth to your art thanks to the textured finish of PrinTribe’s high-quality canvases, which lends even more to providing your customers with products that have the look and feel of your original work.

Printing your artwork on canvas is such a versatile option to offer your customers, which can lead to more sales as people aren’t confined to choosing one type of print. Plus, with our print-on-demand platform, you only pay for what customers order – no warehouse or inventory costs to be seen.

Premium Canvas Sizes

While many artworks are versatile enough to be produced in different sizes, some pieces work best at a particular scale. For instance, some digital artwork looks best on a smaller scale due to resolution issues, while an intricate abstract piece with an unclear focal point generally works better on a larger scale.

Luckily, we offer nine sizes for you to choose from for your canvas products. You’re able to offer your customers a wide variety of sizes so they can choose the scale that will work best with their space. Just make sure you know how to properly prepare your art file for printing, which includes using our size guide that helps find the right image pixel size based on the canvas size you want.

If you’re not sure whether your artwork or photograph will look good displayed on a canvas, try multiplying each individual canvas size measurement by 100. This will leave you with the minimum image pixel dimensions, which will be the best sizes for a print on canvas. For instance, let’s say you want to sell your work on a 90x120cm canvas. Multiply 90 by 100 and 120 by 100, which means the image pixel dimensions should be 9,000x12,000 for a high-quality print.

Is There a Best Type of Canvas?

There are a couple of important aspects to consider when determining the best types of canvas. First up, you should be familiar with the two most common fabrics used to make canvas, which are linen and cotton. Cotton is the best option in most cases as it’s cost-effective without compromising on quality. In other words, it’s strong, stretches perfectly, and it’s lower maintenance and more environmentally friendly than linen.

PrinTribe’s Premium Canvases are polycotton, which is a mix of polyester and cotton that provides additional strength and durability. Polycotton also gives the perfect amount of absorbency to ensure bright, vivid colours every time.

The second thing to know before choosing canvases is in relation to weight. A general rule of thumb to remember is that the heavier the canvas, the more tension it can take when being stretched. This means a heavier canvas won’t rip as easily as a much lighter one. To help you understand the weight of the canvas and its weave, get familiar with the term “gsm” which stands for “grams per square metre”. Any canvas that is 350gsm or above is considered high-grade, which is what you’ll find in the PrinTribe Premium Canvas range.

Here's what you’re getting when you order a canvas product from our premium range:

  • Our Premium Canvases are specifically designed for producing professional quality prints that are made to hang and display for years to come.
  • They come with an aqueous matte finish that ensures your art is rich and vibrant, but not overly glossy.
  • A lightly textured finish not only enhances your artwork, but also guarantees a long-lasting result.
  • These canvases are tear-resistant and scuff-resistant.

The perfect frame is like the ultimate finishing touch, giving your work a more polished look. A frame adds charm and can really connect an artwork to the décor or mood of a room. It’s for this reason that most of your customers will love being able to order your work pre-framed. It means they don’t have to do it themselves, and they can choose their ideal frame that not only complements the artwork, but also their personal style.

Let's dive into that next!

Make Your Artwork Pop with Frames

No matter if you’re creating and selling digital artwork or traditional oil paintings, there’s always a frame that will make your piece pop even more than it already does.

At PrinTribe, you’ll find a wide range of frame mouldings to customise your work. Let’s take a closer look at the options you can choose from:

  • Vincent Walnut – For those leaning more towards the contemporary side, this moulding is a modern style frame with a sleek look, yet still maintains that natural, organic feel. It’s crafted from solid Meranti timber with fine sanding and a classic, open-grain finish that gives it such a distinctive look. Its smooth matte texture, 11mm thickness, and dark, warm brown tones make it versatile for many art styles and interiors.
  • Henri – This moulding is sleek and timeless, perfect for abstracts or other contemporary artworks, digital prints, or photographs. It comes in a classic L-shape with an 11m thickness, and it floats 5mm from the canvas edge to create a beautiful, sophisticated shadow look. Henri comes in pure Black or crisp White so you can customise the look depending on your work.
  • Georgia – Another contemporary beauty, Georgia is sleek and sophisticated with an elegant two-tone moulded look. While the middle and sides remain black, the lip is enveloped in either a gold or silver finish, with a 14mm thickness that really makes the piece stand out when displayed. You can even get Georgia in an extra-large height for deeper pieces.

If you also want to offer your artwork without moulding, you can order a Premium Stretched option. This means that the canvas is gallery-wrapped around a 38mm raw timber stretcher bar, giving your piece a clean, classic, and unframed look.

Get Astonishing Colour with Fine Art Printing

Our goal when printing is to reproduce your work so accurately, your customers will feel like they’ve got the original piece right in their hands.

Using advanced technology from our Mutoh Inkjet printers, your prints are consistently premium quality. Colours are rich and vibrant, black tones are intense, and details are crisp. Part of why we’re able to produce such accurate renditions is by using the finest UV printing techniques, which deliver a vast colour range.

Let’s dive into this further as well as some other key points you should know about our museum-grade printing techniques:

  • Ultraviolet light is used to rapidly cure and dry the ink almost as soon as it’s applied to the canvas.
  • This quick-drying technique provides an additional layer of protection against scratches, scuffs, and smudges.
  • We add a 60mm mirrored bleed to the image you upload to our platform of your artwork. This means we reproduce your image at the edge so that it looks continuous and clean.

Still unsure whether your type of artwork will suit being printed? Since we use innovative printing technology, art in many forms is suitable for printing, including hand-painted artworks in oil, acrylic, or watercolour, and even digital illustrations. If you’re ever hesitant or uncertain, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us and someone from our friendly team will help you.

Wrap, Send, Hang

Once the printing process of your Premium Canvas product is done and dusted, your masterpiece is then wrapped with care using padded corners and bubble wrap for protection, before being shipped off to your customer. From there, they can hang their new artwork at home with ease thanks to our user-friendly hanging fixtures.

Within our Premium range, each canvas is installed with a solid D-ring and wire, hence why you can call your prints from PrinTribe “ready to hang”. We consider the size of each canvas and install the D-ring and wire accordingly to ensure a seamless, balanced hang.

Your customers will feel much more satisfied with a ready-to-hang piece, as they don’t have to take time out of their day to find a ring and wire, tediously install it themselves, and try to balance the artwork on their wall. Everything is done for them!

Whether you’re a professional artist or enjoy selling your art as a side hustle, being able to offer your customers the best quality canvas prints is what’s going to set you apart from the rest. Just imagine their excitement upon pulling a stunning canvas rendition of your work out of the box, so accurate they can see every brushstroke, every line, every paint splatter in astonishing detail.

With PrinTribe’s Premium Canvas products, your work is produced at museum-grade quality with perfect precision to consistently create sharp, crisp, and vibrant results.
